St-Petersburg is a perl of the Baltic cruise for many reasons. It has a mixture of different architectural styles, there are more than 180 museums, it is still a cultural capital of the country. Honestly to say even two-day private tour of St-Petersburg hardly can cover all wonderful sights. But if you love cruising why couldn't you come back? If it is you first Russian vacation follow easy advices to have you own brilliant experience.
Private tour of the Hermitage museum. It is not only for the art lovers. Certainly as Hermitage is the third biggest museum in Europe it is attraction number one. Do you travel with the kids? Or you don't want to rush through? Not a problem, ask your best guide in St-Petersburg about your special preferences. This complex consist of a the former palace with amazing interiors, art gallery working since 1852, various departments like Egyptian or Roman. Tips: Use the opportunity of the early entrance to the Hermitage. It will give you at least one calm hour inside. Love impressionists? General Staff is quite new department of the Hermitage so usually it is not overcrowded like the main part.
Day out in Peterhof and Tsar's village. Both suburban residences demonstrate the grand scale of wealth, unique beauty and restoration skill. In two words the garden of Peterhof will amaze you more than Versailles plus where else exists such a room like the Amber study. You can even book a special shore excursion in St-Petersburg with early entrance to the Catherine palace to avoid queues. Tips: It is easier to unite two places in one day thus you will save one hour of the road way. If you feel it is too much two palaces together visit Catherine's palace and have a walk in Peterhof's garden.
What do you imagine when you think about Russia. You are right, that is bulbous-domed church on the Spilled Blood. Any private tour of St-Petersburg should include it as only here are seven thousand square meters of mosaics! Tip: Don't forget it's closed on Wednesday.

Visit Moscow which is very different from European St-Petersburg and you will learn about Russia much more. Tip: The only way to have a Moscow trip is to have three day shore tour in St-Petersburg.
One last tip but one of the main rules here as St-Petersburg is a big city just keep an eye on your belongings. Thus your Russian vacation will be definitely great.
